This is a new style of card I tried for last weeks Technique Lovers challenge on Splitcoast Stampers. It is called a side step card, where there is a bit of a scene displayed along the side of the card. I was a bit intimidated at first to try it, but then I was pretty happy with how it tuned out. I used my bombshell stamps and colored with copics.

Beautiful bella kisses

This is a card I made for the stamping bella sketch challenge over in the bella forums on Splitcoast Stampers. I used an image of Mwah bella I got from the wish RAK forums a while ago. I think she is very sassy!! I used some of my new DP for her and colored her in with my copic markers. I addded a touch of taffeta ribbon and a few chocolate sparkly brads to complete the look. My scanner just doesn't photograph near as well as my camera, however thanks to my DD, the camera is AWOL right now. The pinks look pretty white and I am a bit disappointed in the quality of it. That said, I did really have fun making this card and I love the new release from Stamping Bella. I will have to put in another order next month - hopefully!

Anyways, thanks for coming by and I would love to know what you think!

Happy Birthday Gorjuss.....

This is a card I made playing with my gorjuss girl. I wanted something with brighter colors and decided this would be perfect! I added the scallopped edge on the brown after layering with an orange strip. The flowers I added a touch of red stickles to the centers to just add a little to it. Madi wanted to give one to her friend and I made a few extras to send out to my BRAK ladies this month. I hope they think she is as sweet as I do!

So a quick post as I am hoping to do a bit more stamping tonight. Thanks so much for popping by and as always your feedback is much appreciated!

Hey there neighbour - heard you were getting older!

Happy Birthday neighbour!! I made this card for my neighbour who had his 50th this past weekend. It started as a thank you card then I saw his birthday posted in the paper so I had to change it to a birthday card of course!! I loved the paper and had to get it when I was at my LSS. I thought it would work perfect with my classic cards set and I think it does!

I made 2 of these cards so I could add one to my brother's birthday book which is almost done.

As always, thanks so much for dropping by and I would love to know what you think!

This is another birthday book card for my neice who is turning 2 this year. I experimented with my watercolor pencils on her. I think it is OK but I need to work at that technique for sure! It certainly isn`t a strong point of mine! This is the same Sugar Nellie I used a couple posts back - demure. I think with the pinks she looks soft and perfect for our newest family princess!

Thanks for visiting and as always, let me know what you think!

More of the Book....

I am still working on my brothers birthday book cards, but I think I onlyhave about 4 left to do!! Yea!! I will have them done in time for the first birthday, which is my DD Bailey`s. I am heading to Edmonton with my brother to go with her to the bar... She is turning 18 and it is already legal for her to drink there at 18. I am feeling so old! :)

Anyways, this card I made for my DD Taylor. Sheis so grouch these days all the time. Gotta love 13!! Ugh! I of course can`t bring myself to spend $ on cards anymore as I make them all and she is embarassed to give my cards to some of her friends. I don`t get it! Oh well... I used a Miss Anya image I received through Wish RAK and colored her with my copics. I didn`t go too overboard since she doesn`t really apperciate it anyways... Sigh!! Oh well, I hope this phase doesn`t last too long!

As always thanks for coming bay and I love hearing what you think!

For a Friend

I made this card for my friend at work who had a really bad week last week. This is my new image from Sugar Nellie called Demure. I got it on Friday in my order... woohoo! I was very excited that my order came so fast! I also had visited Michaels on Friday and found a really nice saying stamp that read `For With God Nothing Shall be Impossible.` I think it will really make her day when I take it to her tomorrow and just a pick up she could use.

I paper pieced her dress with matching DP and was pleased with the over all result.

As always, thanks so much for popping in and let me know what you think!

A Sketch of Many Layers

I made this card for the sketch challenge over on the Sugar Nellie forum at Splitcoast Stampers. It had about 7 layers and I was VERY intimidated to make it at first, but I really love the way it turned out! I used one of my gorjuss girl images from Linda Palmer over at SCS. Thanks Linda! I just love these girls! I am awaiting my first order as we speak! :) Anyways, I think she turned out very nicely and I am going to be proud to give her out!

Thanks for popping in and as always I would love to get your thoughts!

So much fun!!

I got my Splitcoast Stampers weekly inkling today and the tutorial showcased was easle cards. I must admit that I really found these very intimidating and really never tried one. Well I decided in my pursuit of improving my stamping this year I was going to attempt new things. I am really glad I did!! I am very happy with my outcome and the instructions were fabulous! I used some DP I got from one of my SS's and the same bombshell stamp I used the other day. I used my scallop border and punched it with my tiny hole punch. I mounted that piece on some green galore and just tried to jazz up the whole thing with a little distressing, a little ribbon, a big prima (lol) and some choclate ribbon with green polka dots. I think it is one of my new favorites!! And I discovered that these are amazingly easy and the result is stunning! As you can see I again piced the bathing suit to match the background DP and am really happy with the result.

Also I am really pleased with myself for my much more regular posting. I hope you are enjoying my creations!

Thanks for stopping by. As always, please let me know what you think!

Bombshell Baby!!

I love my bombshell stamps! I only have 2 sets so far, but I am definitely ordering more! I have started experimenting with paper piecing the girls to soften them a bit. Although they are still sexy, they seem a little bit more demure... This one I made with some of my SY+U! design paper. I also used some blue ribbon with a stripe I got from an SS. My new theme this year is to use up my stashes so I can get more after I have some need for something... We will see how long it actually lasts. :) So I stamped her with memento black and colored her with my copics. I think I am getting more of the hang of using copics, as they seem to be turning out a bit better.

Well, I am really glad you stopped in! Thanks so much for visiting me. As always I would love to know what you think!

I was placing an order for some stamps and saw this one. I added it at the last second, not realizing it was a digital image. I do still love it, but I really struggle with these as my printer ink always seems to smear when I color in my images. Can anyone tell me some suggestions to avoid this???

Anyways, she is from sugar nellie and it is called dreamcatcher. I love the image as my boyfriend and children have some aboriginal ancestry and dreamcatchers are part of their heritage. I was happy with the end result of the card. I loved the colors too.

So thanks for stopping by and as always I would love to know what you think!

Design DIVAS first 2010 Challenge

This si the first challenge posted this year for our Design DIVAS blogger group. It was an easy one to get us back into doing the challenges. The idea was to use sewing or faux sewing on your card. I was very pleased with how this one turned out! I also did the try a new technique challenge on which was to use quilting on your card. I am very happy with how it turned out! I have not tried real stitching on cards yet so I did the faux stitching. The image is a bitty bloom from Stamping Bella. I think I could have sponged the edges to soften them but all in all I am happy with it. Thanks for popping in and as always I would love to know what you think!

Fun Fun Friday!!

Woohooo! I got home today from work and had an awesome surprise! I got my SS package from my blogging sis Julie!! I just love her work and last time she was my SS she made me cry with an awesome canvas she made me complete with my blog name on it! I just love everything! We had several challenges to complete including a holiday card, some lollipop buttons, some tags, a tree ornament, a purse template and goodies. Julie made me such awesome things! And she topped it off with a 6x6 recipe card for holiday cookies! I just love it! I started getting into those swaps resectly and am looking for the perfect 6x6 album to make into a cook book. Anyways, she spoiled me with primas, some crop and glue and a pre cut scallop card and layers to create my own scallop card!! Thanks so much Julie! It really made my day!!

Here is another simple card I made for the birthday book in progress. It is a pretty simple design and I pieced the pants on this ketto from stamping bella. You know, though, I really love the way this one looks! I think it is one of my favs lately as far as the simple cards go. I just love the bold colors and the splash of pink in her flower sets it off. I colored her with copics, although I am still getting the hang of them. I am pretty happy with how they turned out!

Thanks for stopping in and let me know what you think!

Birthday Card Bonanza

I made my brother a birthday book last year adn each page was a month that had a pocket. I put down the date under the month of each person in our family he would need cards for and filled it for him. He is 28 and still doesn't have a steady sweetie to keep him on top of it...lol!! Anyways... he asked me a couple weeks ago how much I was going to charge him to refill his book for this year. This is one of the feminine cards I made with a gorjuss girl image I received through Splitcoast Stampers wish RAK forum. I think my New Year's resolution is to invest in a fe of these... I think that is one I can definitely keep! :) I also used the sketch challenge from this past week (SC261) I am pretty happy with how it turned out and think I may need to make one for my own stash!

As always, thanks for stopping in and let me know what you think!

Keep on rockin' me baby.....

This is the card I made for the stamping bella twisted challenge. I used turquoise (Bermuda Bay) pink and melon, which I initially thought was close to coral - turns out it isn't! Especially the way it scanned! :) Anyways, I do love the way she turned out. I used ipodabella on it. I put liquid applique on her fluff of her top and added a couple sparkle brads and some fabric flowers. Think it turned out really cute!

Thanks for stopping in and as always let me know what you think!

Another Holiday Card

Before the season is truly over I have another card to share. This one uses one of the new sets I got from Close to my Heart. I have not used these before and only recently found them! Where have I been?? I since ordered 3 more sets that are now waiting to be inked and I know more will follow... Don't tell my boyfriend though! ;) This is a pretty quick one, but I love the little elves in this set. I made a lot of my holiday tags with them for our presents and want to work on tags earlier this year to I am not scrambling at the last minute again. I got a bunch of holiday papers from my SS this past fall and I definitely put them to use! I love the bright colors on this one and how it turned out, even though it took about 10 minutes...

Another New Years Resolution is to start taking more time on some of my cards and projects so I can appl for some DTs this year. I would love to be on one, but there is so much talent out there, I don't feel like my cards have quite enough for that challenge, but I will be working on it!! :)

As always thanks for stopping in and I would love to know what you think!

Happy Birthday to my Sonshine!

I missed posting on his day (Dec 31) but this is the card I made him for his 7th birthday! It is pretty simple but I think he liked it pretty well. I was definitely happy with it! I used copics to color him, wrote in his age on the sign. The edge of the billboard is light blue stickles. I love the bright boy colors and he always gets excited to receive cards I made, too.

The image is from Stamping Bella and I used SU! card stock and white taffeta ribbon. I also used some DP I got from one of my SS's and finished off the center with a button.

Thanks for popping by and as always I would love to know what you think...

I have a new favorite thing! Stamping Bella challenges had a buttony bow technique a few weeks back and you were to make a holiday card with it. I know it is the new year, but I still had a couple I wanted to share and am going to be doing the Christmas Card challenge through the year so you will see a few more holiday posts not even close to Christmas! :) This is Pia Puddingtop from Stamping Bella. I just love my Bellas! They are some of my favorite stamps! So since I tried the buttony bow technique I have used it on a lot of the cards I have made since... lol!

Well, thanks for coming by and I would love to know what you think!
